Boda Scambaits

Hi, My name is Boda. Well that’s what you all call me anyways. I have used the name Boda online since the mid 90’s. It comes from the name of the childhood imaginary friend of Kurt Cobain. Kurt was a big influence on me in my youth so the name has great meaning to me. I will make reference to its origin in things like my email and reddit by using the name bodaisreal. I was Boda_ in IRC during the mid to late 90’s and continued to use it in various handles online since then. I felt it was a perfect fit being an imaginary characters name for an imaginary scambaiter.

I have been scambaiting since around 2008/09 when I was working for a company in a call center. I found the site 419eater and fell in love with the art of deceiving the deceiver. I started doing email scambaiting soon after as a passtime while I worked. In a period of just over a year I did so many scambaits to African scammers That I started getting the same scammers over and over. It was so much fun. When I left that job I really did not have a means to scambait anymore.

I started watching Scammer Revolts probably around when Covid-19 really hit the fan. I had given up on my pastime of authoring political opinion articles, mainly due to my realization that everyone is an idiot, so trying to change peoples minds is hopeless. So I wanted something new to do. Scammer Revolts was doing things that I knew I could easily do as well. I knew exactly how he did it, and I knew I had the manipulation skills to be able to pull it off. So I started doing it. I deleted a bunch of scammers files just for the hell of it. I didn’t even think to record them.

A month or so passed and I started looking into other kinds of scams, and other scambaiters. I eventually recorded one of the calls I did on my phone and uploaded it to facebook. Quite a few of my friends liked it. I was actually surprised because the quality was so low but people liked it. I thought, maybe I can do this if I can just have better quality.

I started setting up my computer to record, started getting the needed equipment like a headset and microphone and started making calls. I practiced for a little while before I actually recorded them. Then I set up a YouTube channel and made my first recording the beginning of August and Uploaded it on August 19th. You can watch that video here:

i really wanted to make things better. I didnt know how to do any of the things needed to produce videos, but I knew I could learn. I started with the goal of putting out a video every single weekday. That way I would certainly get better at what I was doing. Doing something that much you are bound to become better every try. It would also show to my potential subscribers that I am dedicated and worth giving a subscription to. I really think this work ethic has paid off. I have had many comments stating they subscribed simply due to the amount of videos I release.
